Retro 70's American Diner
Meets Modern Restaurant Design

Interior Design Studio Juliette Rubel brings a touch of retro charm to Fellows Restaurant nestled in the heart of Paris. An artisanal Pasta Restaurant offering a sustainable variety of plant-based cuisine — serving the freshest hand-rolled pasta with a focus on seasonal ingredients; from a vegetarian menu that frames their commitment to low impact.

Restaurant Lighting with a balance
of style and function

Setting out to develop an intimate interior for a private dining room at Fellows Restaurant, Studio Juliette Rubel focused on bringing authenticity to the centre of the space. The playful design of this commercial interior creates a relationship between chef and diner through shape, pattern and light; embracing today's modern design sensibilities with the nostalgia of past decades.

A bold and contemporary restaurant space that remains practical and functional. Blending the buildings original industrial elements with near-metallic design fixtures, such as the Coolicon Antinium lampshade to create an experience which immerses diners.

The Antinium Original 1933™ Design Lampshades are intended to be hung low, with a neat row of ten shades above a long central table. In this enclosed space, they not only balance the light but also frame the interior, their shifting tones infusing the room with a sense of optimism and vitality.

“A place is never limited to its function. It is a living scene,
a medium for emotions, a space that dialogues with those who live there.”

Antinium's shifting colour

From vibrant colours, to Geometric pattern and an eclectic mix of textures and materials, Studio Juliette Rubel reinterprets the spirit of an American Diner in a commercial space heavily influenced by the aesthetics of Retro 70's Decor. A combination of Funk, Mid-Century Modern and Bohemian design ideas marry traditional design with the optimism of the 1970’s. Establishing a modern interior which tells a story.

The Antinium Original 1933™ Design Lampshades reflect varying finishes and vibrant colours used throughout this interior. With hints of gold, silver, cream, and bronze; these Antinium Lampshades deliver a near metallic finish; appearing to change in colour when viewed at different angles.

Bi-Directional Lighting

The Antinium Original 1933™ Lampshade is expertly designed to provide both ambient and focussed lighting. Its Bi-Directional design allows light to flow upwards through the innovative vented gallery, filling the space with a soft, even light, while also casting a targeted glow downwards onto surfaces below. The shades produce a balanced lighting effect, ideal for smaller rooms, basements, or any space in need of brightening.

With plenty of room to align to each table setting, its petite form makes these lampshade ideal for smaller spaces. The Antinium shades are hung neatly above eye level to minimise glare and provide an intimate dining experience for private guests while exposing an open view into the Kitchen gallery.

“Light has always been essential in my approach. In my projects, it sculpts space, draws volumes and shapes perspectives to transform each place into an experience.”
